Heaven

Is there an eternal life after death?

Yes. The Bible states that there is an eternal place that our souls will enter after our physical death.
Written below are just a few of many Bible quotes;

"Don't be afraid of those who want to kill you. They can only kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
(The Holy Bible - Matthew 10:28)

"God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted, too."
(The Holy Bible - Matthew 5:11-12)

"I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property-with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life. But many who seem to be important now will be the least important then, and those who are considered least here will be the greatest then."
(The Holy Bible - Mark 10:29-31)

Where will it be spent?

The Bible speaks of two eternal places, "Heaven" and "Hell". You have chosen the study on Heaven.

Where is Heaven?

According to the Bible, Heaven is the eternal realm in which God currently resides. A perfect paradise that an individual's soul enters after the trials of life are over. Only those who have been born again spiritually may enter.

Jesus replied,
"I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God."

(The Holy Bible - John 3:3)

Heaven is a designed place. According to the Bible, the creation of the heavens
and the earth was accomplished by the Hebrew Deity YHWH Elohim (God). This is depicted in chapters 1 and 2 of the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible.

Eternal life in Heaven would mean a life unspoiled and in a perfect creation. There will no longer be any separation between God and humans. Believers will exist in incorruptible new bodies and there will no longer be sickness and death.

For our perishable earthly bodies must be transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die.
When this happens (when our perishable earthly bodies have been transformed into eternal heavenly bodies) then at last the Scriptures will come true:

"Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
(The Holy Bible - 1 Corinthians 15:53-55)

Believers will not only spend eternity with God, they will also spend it with each other.

"But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior."
(The Holy Bible - Philippians 3:20)

'Heaven' will be the place where life will be lived to the fullest in the way the Designer originally planned it. Each believer will "love the Lord their God with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their mind" and will "love their neighbor as them self".
A place of great joy, without corruption.

What keeps us out of heaven?

Humans were never meant to die. Death is not a natural part of life, but was a consequence of sin after the first humans, Adam and Eve disobeyed God so that mankind could not live forever. Sin is what keeps us out of Heaven and separated from God.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
(The Holy Bible - Romans 6:23)

Sin is a term used mainly to describe an act that violates a moral rule or the state of having committed such a violation. According to the Bible, the code of conduct is determined by God. Any thought, word, or act considered immoral, shameful or harmful is "sinful". Since their is no sin in heaven with Holy God, those considered sinful cannot enter.

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies."
(The Holy Bible - Psalm 24: 1-4)

Our sin keeps us out of heaven.

How do we enter heaven?

Now we come to one of the main reasons for this website, sharing God's plan on how to enter heaven. Humans have lost the blessing of heaven due to their own sin, but God has provided a way.
